Arsenal Cape Town started their humble beginnings with 5 members in a very small and secluded pub. The passion and vision of these 5 members saw the establishment of the first “Unofficial Supporters Club” in 2008. With their love for the greatest club in the world, Arsenal Football Club, they have grown the club from the initial 5 members to over 400 active members on their database. Our Facebook page also has over 2000 members.

In 2009, the love for the team and the determination of the founding members to grow the club was noted and taken into account by Arsenal FC. The Cape Town Branch was invited to apply for membership, which they did and Arsenal Cape Town was given full membership to the Arsenal Worldwide family in October 2009.

Our members are now from areas in and around Cape Town and come from as far afield as Atlantis, Stellenbosch, Hout Bay and the United Kingdom with many holiday makers making visiting our club house.

As a result of the clubs widespread supporter base, the club has established four sub branches within Arsenal Cape Town. These four branches are located at Bounce Pub in the Plumstead, the Drunken Duck in Kuilsrivier, The Nameless Pub in Somerset West and Atlantis. The club meets for all live games and can attract crowds of between 50 and 300 for games (we pride ourselves that over 15% of our membership is female). For the 2010 FIFA world cup the club was actively involved with the SA Museums, where they took footage of our supporters club to be used at exhibitions around SA during the World Cup. The club also donated various merchandise for display.

The club enjoys an active Facebook page, features regularly in the Arsenal matchday magazine and had a special feature on the popular "Fanzone" sports show, demonstrating the clubs active social responsibility achievements.

Although Arsenal and football is the key factor that brings the members together, we believe strongly in living the clubs values by fulfilling our social responsibilities. We have an official nominated charity, namely Miracle Kidz. The club has recently partnered with Pick n Pay Constantia in supporting Miracle Kidz by providing meals, Christmas gifts and toiletry hampers. The club has also committed in supporting a fellow Arsenal fan, Jarred Fernandez, living with leukaemia by providing financial aid for his medical costs.
